Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas

After traveling to Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Berlin, Amsterdam, London and Las Vegas, I’m pooped. I’ll be taking it easy during Thanksgiving week as I unwind and rejuvenate for my last half of 2015 coming up in San Antonio, Texas in early December.

Speaking of half marathons…This past weekend, I ran Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas for the second time. It’s one of my favorite RnR races. There’s something to be said about running on the Las Vegas strip at night with spirited runners while being cheered on. The energy and music make for an entertaining 13.1 miles.

I had one goal for this race and it was to set a PR (personal record). Considering I partied hard the night before and didn’t train, I crossed the start line a tad bit skeptical but with every intention of beating 2 hours and 28 minutes. It was cold, windy and wet. I was mentally exhausted and physically sore. But none of that mattered because I finished the race at 2:21:07 – a new personal best and another goal to beat.

Now for Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio, I plan to have fun – to embrace great company, enjoy the new scenery and reflect on this past year of running. I’ll be running RnRSA with zero expectations and because I can.

Looks like someone had a blast in Vegas and not just by doing the typical things you would do in Vegas. SA, here you come!
