Finding Balance: Training and Running

Balancing cross-training and running can be challenging, I always find myself doing one more than the other. Both are important to do for many reasons like: injury prevention, strength building and active recovery. But it takes focus and dedication to doing them equally.


A few months ago, I was out on the streets pounding pavement with zero cross-training. Today, I’m hitting up the gym, training multiple times a week and running only once. I’ve included training, but left out running. So now I’m striving for a better balance. I’ve picked up the new Nike Metcon 1 trainers (which are so cute!) and renewed my sense of purpose to have a good training program that helps me progress with running.
